With a strong commitment to research and development, Alqawafel’s seeds empower farmers worldwide to grow nutritious, high-quality crops, promoting sustainable agricultural practices for the future.
Alqawafel Seeds
Alqawafel’s hybrid vegetable seeds are the result of continuous scientific research aimed at enhancing disease tolerance, improving plant vigor, and ensuring superior fruit quality. Our cucumber hybrids are designed for both greenhouse and open-field cultivation, with exceptional disease resistance to common viral and fungal threats. Tomato varieties are available for both open-field and greenhouse production, with robust resistance to key viral diseases. We also offer a diverse range of other vegetable seeds, including squash, hot pepper, sweet pepper, melon, watermelon, eggplant, okra, cabbage, and cauliflower. Each variety is carefully selected for its adaptability to different climates and growing conditions, delivering excellent performance and uniformity. Alqawafel’s hybrid seeds provide farmers with the tools they need to enhance crop yields and ensure sustainable, high-quality production, contributing to food security and agricultural success.

Cucumber
Alqawafel's cucumber hybrids are intended for greenhouse and open-field cultivation. They are characterized by multi-fruiting per node, uniform fruit size, and dark green color. The plants are vigorous and adaptable to variable environmental conditions. Most varieties demonstrate intermediate resistance to common viral and fungal diseases, including Powdery Mildew (PM), Cucumber Mosaic Virus (CMV), Zucchini Yellow Mosaic Virus (ZYMV), and Cucumber Vein Yellowing Virus (CVYV).
Tomato
Tomato seeds are available for both open-field (determinate types) and greenhouse (indeterminate types) production. The varieties produce globe or oval-shaped fruits with firm texture and uniform coloration. They are bred to tolerate key viral diseases such as Tomato Yellow Leaf Curl Virus (TYLCV), Tomato Mosaic Virus (ToMV), Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus (TSWV), and Fusarium races 1 and 2. Fruit sizes vary across the portfolio to meet fresh market and processing needs.

Squash
Squash varieties offered by Alqawafel include types suitable for warm-season cultivation. The hybrids reach maturity in approximately 40 days and are compact in growth habit. Fruit shapes range from cylindrical to medium bulbous, with color varying from deep to brilliant green. The varieties are generally resistant to viruses such as CMV, ZYMV, and Watermelon Mosaic Virus (WMV), and are suited to both open-field and greenhouse systems.
Hot Pepper
The hot pepper hybrids include cayenne and charleston types. These varieties produce uniform, elongated fruits with high pungency. They can be cultivated in both greenhouse and open-field settings. Disease tolerance in the pepper line includes resistance to ToMV, TMV, and PM. The plants are generally vigorous, with consistent fruit set and performance across multiple climatic zones.

Sweet Pepper
Alqawafel’s sweet pepper hybrids consist of Lamuyo, Kapia, and bell (blocky) types. These varieties are characterized by thick walls, uniform lobes, and color changes from green to red or yellow depending on the hybrid. The hybrids are suitable for greenhouse and open-field production. Tolerances include TMV, ToMV, PVY, and TSWV, which are common in pepper-growing regions. These peppers are intended for the fresh market segment.
Melon
Melon hybrids cover several types including Ananas, Charentais, Cantaloupe, and Yellow Canary. Traits include round or oval fruit shape, well-defined netting (depending on type), and flesh colors ranging from orange to greenish white. The varieties typically show tolerance to Powdery Mildew and Fusarium wilt (race 2). They are adapted for open-field cultivation and target seasonal high-value melon production.

Watermelon
Watermelon hybrids are developed for open-field production and include Charleston Gray, Sugar Baby, and Crimson Sweet types. These varieties produce large fruits (up to 15 kg) with deep red flesh and small seeds. The hybrids have intermediate resistance to Powdery Mildew and Fusarium wilt (race 2). They are designed for regions with high-temperature growing seasons and meet commercial size and yield expectations.
Eggplant
Eggplant hybrids include round, obovate, and long cylindrical shapes suitable for both greenhouse and field conditions. Fruit skin is glossy dark purple to black, with green calyx and seedless white flesh. Most varieties are tolerant to TMV and Verticillium wilt. The plants are moderately vigorous and productive over a prolonged harvest period.

Okra
The hybrid okra offered by Alqawafel is suitable for indoor and open-field production. Plants are heat-tolerant and produce uniform, tender pods. The variety demonstrates high tolerance to Yellow Vein Mosaic Virus (YVMV), which is a major challenge in okra cultivation. First harvest typically occurs within 45–50 days after sowing.
Cabbage
Cabbage hybrids are bred for open-field cultivation during the winter and autumn seasons. They produce compact, round or oval-shaped heads weighing between 1–4 kg, depending on the variety. Plants show strong field vigor and are suited for both early and late season production. These varieties are appropriate for direct consumption or commercial distribution.

Cauliflower
Cauliflower hybrids are suitable for seasonal cultivation in both summer and winter. Plants develop compact white curds with consistent size and uniformity. The varieties are selected for open-field adaptability and are used primarily for the fresh market.
